93 pts Wine Enthusiast  |  93 Vinous  |  91 pts Wine Advocate

This luxuriant Cabernet shows deep, dark juicy fruits layer the palate with lush notes of black cherry and red plum, giving way to complex notes of sage, clove, and minerality. Finish is dark and full of cassis and ripe blackberries balanced beautifully by suedy, round tannins, and carefully crafted acidity.

Sourced entirely from the gravely sections of our Rutherford estate vineyards, this luxuriant Cabernet starts with a bouquet of dried flowers, rose petals, and cocoa, as hints of black pepper emerge.  Deep, dark juicy fruits layer the palate with lush notes of black cherry and red plum, giving way to more complex notes of sage, clove, and minerality. Emphasizing its Rutherford terroir, this wine finishes with darker notes of cassis and ripe blackberries, balanced beautifully by suedy, round tannins and carefully crafted acidity sure to please all discerning palates.

"Round Pond 2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Rutherford).  This is a well-integrated reserve wine, enjoyable in its complex plushness and characteristics of clove, cassis and red cherry.  Leather, tobacco, and soy come in midway, adding to a robust, softly spoken finish."  - Virginie Boone

Antonio Galloni - 93 pts
"Dark cherry, plum, mocha, leather, and licorice emerge from the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve (formerly Bovet). Essentially a barrel selection of the best lots on the property, the Reserve is dark, succulent and expressive. It should drink well for the next 10-15 years."

Wine Spectator - 91 pts
"Pure and vibrant, with a measured delivery of loamy earth-laced currant, blackberry, olive and sage flavors, supported by firm cedary oak that is front and center now but tilting toward a more integrated future. Drink now through 2030." -James Laube
