2017 Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc 750ML

90 pts Wine Spectator | 94 pts Vivino
This wine is bright, playful and tropical, with a layered palate of white peach, ripe pear, granny smith apples, and candied grapefruit. It continues to evolve beautifully, finishing with silky tones and refreshing minerality, with notes of lime zest, mandarin orange, and limestone lingering delightfully for minutes.

90 pts Wine Spectator | 94 pts Vivino  The aromatics of this warm-weather sipper are bright, playful and tropical, teasing the taste buds with a bouquet of papaya, mango, and honeydew melon. The wine dances across the palate delivering everything promised by the bouquet including layers of white peach, ripe pear, granny smith apples, and candied grapefruit. As you enjoy this wine, it continues to evolve beautifully, finishing with silky tones and refreshing minerality; notes of lime zest, mandarin orange, and limestone linger delightfully for minutes.

Varietals: 100% Sauvignon Blanc (Clone: 1, 530 & Sauvignon Musque)
Fermentation: 100% stainless steel, no malolactic fermentation

WINEMAKING NOTE:  This wine is focused on purity of fruit; it is a flip book of the varietal as it ripens on our Rutherford estate. We capture different snapshots of the grape’s character by making three picking passes during harvest. This provides the wine with multiple layers of fruit starting with zesty citrus, moving to stone fruits, progressing to melons, and finishing with a hint of exotic tropical fruits. Each of these aromatic profiles represents the different ripeness levels at which the clusters were picked.

“Smooth and succulent, offering ripe pear, yellow apple and peach flavors that are bright and crisp on a juicy frame, with a hint of Key lime pie lingering. Drink now.” - MaryAnn Worobiec, July 2018

"Estate Grown Sauvignon Blanc is rare and even rarer when you put Thomas Rivers Brown in the mix. This wine is brilliant, greenish-gold, with fresh cut aromas of green apple, pear, and quince. It is juicy, crisp and wonderfully fresh but has mineral backbone that pierces through the ripe mouthfeel. It’s actually hard to put to the glass down!"
